5:00 PM - 2:00 PM

Believe it or not this is the sixteenth consecutive year that we have organised this wonderful VW event which is being held at the picturesque Kennet River Holiday Park located 164 kms from Melbourne right on the magnificent Great Ocean Road.

With this iconic VW event most members arrive at various times on the Friday afternoon, or early evening, for two nights and two days of VW fun filled frivolity. People set up camp then relax, mingle and socialise. Some like to extend the time spent there and choose to arrive earlier in the week. We always have 25 or more sites chock full of VWs and their owners.

It is a very laid back two days with a great surf beach right across the road. We may organise a social get-together activity or two, or possibly a cruise, while we are there. If you intend to attend and want to make a booking you should contact the park on 1300 664 417 and tell them you are with the Volkswagen club.

DIPG, the cancer Isabella and Marcus had, is the worst brain cancer, it strikes 20 children each year and it is incurable. Marcus and Isabella were 5 years when they were diagnosed and they lived less than 6 months. Historic Motor Vehicle Gathering, SA

PARK 23, WESTERN SIDE OF ANZAC HIGHWAY BETWEEN THE KESWICK BRIDGE AND WEST TERRACE

9:30 AM - 2:30 PM

More than 200 veteran and vintage cars, trucks and motorcycles will converge on the Adelaide Parklands for a public display on Sunday 17th March 2019. Organised by The Vintage Sports Car Club of South Australia, the 11th annual Historic Motor Display Day is exclusively for vehicles built before 1931.

This display will give the public a chance to see just how quickly vehicles evolved in the first few decades of the past century. Everything from spindly, single-cylinder cars and bikes well over 100 years old capable of just 40kph to large eight-cylinder, luxury vehicles from the height of the "Roaring Twenties" more than capable of mixing it with modern traffic will be on display. This is not just a great opportunity to see the history of motoring but a chance to meet and talk with the custodians of these vehicles and marvel at the development, design and grandeur of these magnificent machines.

This is also an opportunity for younger people to see 'up close and personal' relics from an era of motoring very few living people truly remember thus helping to foster and preserve an interest in the historic vehicle movement.

The vehicles will be displayed in Edwards Park (Park 23) on the western side of Anzac Highway between the Keswick Bridge and West Terrace from 10.30am to 2.30pm. There is no admission charge for entrants and spectators, and free parking has been arranged in a special section in the same grounds. Enter by travelling north on Anzac Highway. There will be catering on-site.

Rally Retro Day, VIC

Avalon

9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

What happens to old rally cars after they’ve passed their use-by date? Those cars that no longer fit into today’s regulations, those that are no longer fast enough, or cars that are becoming far too valuable to rally competitively?

Until now many are simply pushed into a shed and left to gather dust. Often they are neglected by their owners, partially stripped down with the intention of giving them a full rebuild one day, or parked in a corner of a shed and out of sight, their past victories all but totally forgotten.

But there has to be an opportunity to bring them out of the woodwork and put these old rally cars on display for all the world to see. And now a group of Australian enthusiasts are planning on running a similar rally day early in 2019. Already the wheels are in motion, and it’s not surprising that there is a growing list of eligible vehicles from as far back as the past 50 years, the owners of which are dead keen to be involved.

Likely “Aussie” possibles include ex-works Morris Cooper S, R8 Gordini, Torana XU1, ex- London – Sydney Falcons, Greg Carr’s Alfa Romeo GTV6 and RS1800 Escort, Renault Alpine A110, Sierra Cosworth, Subaru Imprezas, Mitsubishi Evos, numerous Datsun 1600s and so on.

Plans are underway to hold this display event in conjunction with an optional khanacross at Avalon in Melbourne’s western suburbs on April 7, 2019. More details will be available during the next few months. In the meantime, interested rally car owners are urged to contact Amy Jane Cranston (0414 560 688), Paul Mollison (0407 272 646) or Alan Baker on 0407 313 128.

Concours dLemons Down Under, SA

Torrens Parade Ground, King William Road, Adelaide

10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

It's the world's worst car show, or more correctly a show of the world's worst cars, and despite all efforts, it’s slipped past our border security and immigration controls, and is heading to Adelaide, South Australia for a third time in 2019!

Concours d’Lemons, certainly lives up to its slogan of “celebrating the oddball, mundane and truly awful of the automotive world”, and even goes so far as to thumb its nose at conventional shows by openly encouraging the bribing of its celebrity judges.

Open to vehicles of all types, the Adelaide public will be subjected to some zany examples of questionable engineering and roadworthiness, as owners fall all over each other to win $2 recycled trophies in categories such as “Needlessly Complex Italian”, “Rueful Britannia”, and “Der Self-SatisfiedKrauttenWagen” to name but a few.

The low-point of the day, will be the public humiliation of the winner of the “Worst of Show” award, presented by our zany host, American journo, Alan Galbraith.

Hamburger and Holden Day, VIC

Verong Vittles Cafe & Takeaway, 36 McLennan St, Mooroopna

12:30 PM - 4:30 PM

In honour of Kenny "Bigwheels" Jager, Verong Vittles and Maloo Owners Victoria proudly presents Hamburger & Holden Day 2019, featuring all classic cars on Sunday 8th December 2019 from 12.30-4.30pm.

All Holdens welcome, all classics welcome. If you have a Holden or any model or make classic car then bring it down and show your support for a great cause. We would love to see you and your cool classic displayed alongside our all time favourite, Holden/HSV. This event is to raise awareness for a growing problem amongst our young men, so the more the merrier, and who doesn't love a classic, Kenny sure did.

This year we have more trophies and prizes than ever before. We have added 2 more categories, Best Club Display & Best Classic Car. This is a family friendly event and proudly supports the Love Me, Love You Foundation, bringing awareness to men's mental health and suicide in regional areas. Drive and display with us and help support a great foundation doing even greater work. Hope to see you there.
