National Motoring Heritage Day, NSW

Berry Showground, Alexandra Street, Berry

7:00 AM - 2:00 PM

National Motoring Heritage Day is an initiative of the Australian Historic Motoring Federation, with the aim being to promote and display Australia’s strong motoring heritage and also show the community, business and government the strength of the Australian historic motoring movement.

These historic vehicles bring enjoyment to their owners as well as the public. Australia’s historic motoring movement has a massive input into the economy, with vast sums of money spent on restoration and maintenance of motor vehicles. There is a vast economic benefit to businesses such as motels, caravan parks, hotels, restaurants and service stations in the towns and cities where these events are being hosted. Many Councils throughout Australia can see the benefit to their communities and welcome events with open arms.

To celebrate National Motoring Heritage Day the Shoalhaven Historic Vehicle Club Inc will be hosting a themed Aussie Assembled Vehicles display of vintage, historic and classic vehicles and bikes. This event is held at the Berry Showground and vehicles are $5, spectators $2 and children under 12 free. Entries must be received by 8th May for the event. Info 0417 671 107. 22-23

Historic Winton, VIC

Winton Motor Raceway, near Benalla

9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

The 44th Historic Winton will run a scaled back version of the event for historic car and motorbike competitors on 22nd & 23rd May 2021 at Winton Motor Raceway.

“The Austin 7 Club will run a restricted event, under a Tier Three COVID Permit,” Organiser and Austin 7 Club President, Len Kerwood said. He said that attendance will be limited to car and motor bike entrants, their pit crews and required officials.

At this stage, no public tickets will be available, and invitations to car clubs for displays will not be possible. “We are saddened that our event will not take its usual shape, and have not made this decision lightly. However, the costs involved in the strict COVID Safe compliance and the continually changing Government requirements, has led us to this decision.

“Our loyal supporters; the spectators, car and motorcycle clubs, sponsors, advertisers and trade vendors will be greatly missed, however the running of the scaled back event will continue to support historic motorsport and keep Historic Winton alive for future years.”

If COVID restrictions ease, there may be a light at the end of the tunnel for spectators. “If eased restrictions are in place it may be possible to have spectators, but this will be determined in coming weeks,” Len said. “Announcements will be made on our website and on Facebook.”

Albany Classic, WA

Albany CBD, Western Australia

8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Australia’s first “Round the Houses” race, the WA 50 Mile TT Car Race was born in Albany Western Australia on 8 March 1936. It was a feature of the “Back to Albany” week, which was designed to bring an economic stimulus to the local economy following the depression.

In 1991 a group of committed local business people and enthusiasts and the City of Albany came together to create an annual re-enactment tribute of this event. An army of volunteers transform the CBD of Albany into a race circuit on the Saturday night of the WA Day long weekend. Three of the first cars which competed in the original 1936 event have been restored and continue to compete in our modern event. Other replica’s have been built to compete and a variety of other cars continue to be restored to take part in this iconic event.

Sunday features 150 cars competing in this temporary street circuit in five categories, from rear engine open top race cars, vintage cars, tin tops, race cars and touring cars. The pit layout enables spectators to look at cars and talk with drivers. Many competitors and spectators are from intra-state and interstate, bringing many thousands of visitors to the region.

On Saturday is the Mt Clarence Hill Climb. Watch the cars traversing the challenging Apex Drive Road leading to the Desert Corps Memorial. Alongside the action of the cars on Sunday is the family festival with bands, children’s entertainment, competitions, food and other stalls in operation along with displays of vintage cars and street machines. 2021 marks the 30th anniversary of the current day event and 85th anniversary of the original event. It will also be the platform to recognise the Holden and its importance in Australian motoring history.

Unique Cars Rolling 30, NSW

SYDNEY MOTOR SPORT PARK, FERRERS ROAD, EASTERN CREEK

8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

After the success of the inaugural 2019 event at Sydney Motorsport Park, our Rolling 30 Cars & Coffee on Steroids will return to Sydney Motorsport Park on July 4th.

In case you missed other events, the idea is a low-stress track cruise with your favourite toy, with plenty to see and do, and a chance to catch up with the Unique Cars staffers. We’ll also be on the lookout for feature cars.

Rolling 30 is somewhere where you can take the family pride and joy for a bit of a run around the track and share it with the world at large. We don’t offer off-street racing, we won’t tolerate burnouts and as far as we’re concerned, big blowers out the bonnet are for Summernats! Rolling 30 is a unique event for truly Unique Cars. It could be the humble Kingswood, Valiant or Falcon that the family has lovingly polished over the years, or that E-type you always wanted and finally got your hands on.

The whole event is there to celebrate classic and collectable cars that are 30 years of age and over, giving them a safe space to stretch their legs surrounded by like-minded enthusiasts. We want you and the car to finish the day happy, smiling and scratch-free, so we’ll be pretty tough on anyone putting your pride and joy in jeopardy. Come along for the machinery, the cruise and a great time with like-minded car nuts.
